Based upon Ataturk’s Principles and Reforms, National Education Principles and our own goals, education at Çevre Primary School aims to lead individuals who are capable of thinking critically and acting democratically and respectfully within a society for which they take appropriate democratic, environmental and social responsibility. In the modern world, successful individuals can control and use information effectively, and this ability stems directly from their education. Taking into consideration our student profile, we prepare a curriculum, which aims to lead students who are multi culturally aware and able to express their ideas critically and fluently.

Integration of the ISO 9001-2000 Quality Management System, which was introduced in 2003, continues to assist the renovation and development of a student-centered educational environment. Our modern campus includes a full range of facilities to assist in the development of arts and sport, computer-assisted learning and foreign language studies. Our ‘cooperative management’ approach aims to include staff at all levels in problem solving and decision-making.

OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM

It is important to educate individuals to be responsible members of their society who are democratic, environmentally aware, respectful of the rights of others and loyal to Ataturk’s Principles. It is, therefore, of vital importance to offer a curriculum, which develops a student not only academically, but also socially and emotionally.

Çevre students are taught to think critically, not simply to absorb information, but individual expression is encouraged in all areas of the curriculum. Multiple Intelligence Theory encourages diversity in learning. Laboratory work, field trips, projects, portfolios and extracurricular activities ensure a high level of educational service and quality.

Classrooms are fully equipped with multi-media projection equipment and smart boards to fully utilize our computer-based learning resources and encourage greater interest and variety within the learning experience.

Student development is monitored and guided externally by general national exams and internally by the Measurement & Evaluation and Counseling Departments respectively. Grade 8 students are tutored for preparation for the middle school general national exams. Individual remedial tutorials are provided for any student in Grades 4-7 who requires academic assistance, both after school and at the weekend.

Students’ results in general national exams are considerably high and we are proud of our students’ placement results to the top leading Turkish high schools.

Foreign language teaching is based upon Common European Framework, which ensures teaching and assessment held to a pan-European standard of criteria. Our English curriculum aims to develop oral and written fluency through a range of classical and modern texts so that they may access and share in an English-language media world.

German and Spanish are electively offered as second foreign language to provide familiarity with other cultures and learn the basic structures of another language, as well as to promote self-confidence.

Çevre students are also encouraged to explore and develop themselves as balanced individuals through a wide range of sports, arts and a variety of clubs.
